Design Concept

First of its kind in India, this Multi storied building is made using Engineered Bamboowood. The interlocking weave of small Bamboowood members creates a strong and rigid structure.

Stepped terraces offer spill out spaces from the offices that over look the Ulsoor lake. The trellised roof canopy covered with solar panels would create semi open gathering spaces for the occupants of the iconic Wildlife and Eco-tourism company of India.

Carbon Negative Construction

Engineered Bamboowood is an extremely dense and hard material made by compressing strands of bamboo fiber under heat and pressure in a mould along with bonding resins to create lumber and planks. This lumber which has a density of 1100 kg/m3 and 1000 kgf hardness is fire, termite and water retardant.

Bamboo is a grass, not a tree and it sequesters CO2 while growing and regrows in 3-5 years as compared to 30-40 years for a tree to grow back. Surprisingly, the Construction industry contributes 33% of CO2 emissions which are at par with Transportation and Industrial activity.

Steel and Cement = Petrol and Diesel. Bamboowood construction can cut down emissions by more than 75% as compared to equivalent buildings made of steel and concrete. Factory made and assembled at site, timber buildings offer dry construction, require very few workers and can be built in less than half the time a concrete building would take
