Design features:

Y shaped columns : The Y shaped columns are designed to reduce the span of each bay from 22 mts to 17 mts reducing the structural weight of steel used. The Y shaped columns are also designed to take the weight of future mezzanine floors. The gap in the Y allows for a bridge to monitor the production from above.

Lower Ground Floor : The 65000 sft footprint to be placed on a sloping 3 acre site made us create a lower ground floor as additional storage instead of filling up the plinth which would have been more than 3 meters deep

Clerestory roof : The roof profile allows for natural light and ventilation through transparent louvers reducing the dependency on artificial lighting and keeping the building cool with passive convection cooling. Daylight panels on the side cladding also adds natural light inside

Large roof overhangs : The large roof overhangs on the east and west facade reduces heat gain on the side walls. The Y shape creates an inward sloping cladding that remains shaded throughout the day thereby reducing heat gain. The insulated sheets for the roof and side cladding keeps 4-5 degrees temperature difference and the deafening rain noise is also negated.
